CST300 - Week 8 (Final Video Project Reviews)

Part 1: Final Video Project Reviews

Group 7: Software Solutions - Marco Lara, Rawley Lizarraga, Madison Nolen, Cristina Pizano
Topic - AI Agents: Digital Workers

Review: The presenters' voices are clear and easy to follow. The presentation is a bit dry, but thoroughly explains how AI agents work. The topic is thoroughly researched and provides how AI agents work, why AI agents will matter in the future, and examples of current applications. The inclusion of real-world applications of AI agents give the topic more relevance to the audience's daily lives. The presentation does include the pitfalls of AI agents, and what developers can improve upon in the future.

Group 6: DigiPlants - Serena Ngo, Matthew Blanco, Bug Plowman
Topic - Spacial Computing for Tech Professionals

Review: The video is engaging and is edited professionally. It feels less like a student presentation, and more like a professional advertisement. There are little words on the presentation, which can make following the presentation a bit hard without closed captioning. The final presenter's voice is limited to my right ear (very minor nitpick from me). There are many visual examples of spacial computing given in the presentation, making it easy for the audience to understand what the presenters are explaining. Serena, Matthew, and Bug did a great job on this presentation!

Group 10: Sami Hobson, Faith Thomas, Luis Valadez
Topic - Public Awareness: Deep Fakes are Fooling Us

Review: I think the music is a tad bit too loud, and makes it hard to hear Sami's voice. Sami, Faith, and Luis are all equally present in the presentation, and makes it feel more personal with their introductions. The How Deep Fakes Work section is a great explanation of the workings of a deepfake. The real-world implications of deepfakes is understood through the examples given, like deepfakes of politicians used to scam civilians out of thousands of dollars. The examples are relevant to today's current issues and present how big of an issue deepfakes can be.

Part 2: This Week's Review

Our videos were the Drones: Friend or Foe? professional presentation, and the Drones: Friend or Frenemy? general audience presentation.
Group 8: Otter Consultants - Ysabelle Kim, Cody Hopkins

Topic - Drones: Friends or Foe?

Topic - Drones: Friend or Frenemy?

For our general audience presentation, we decided it was a good idea to omit the use of drones in war, since the topic is not intended for children or younger audiences. It is something to be aware of however, which is why we include it in our professional presentation.

One of the most important lessons I've learned in CST300 was how to manage my time -- with CS Online, a job, and multiple personal projects I would like to work on (ArtFight! and my tabletop role-playing games to name a couple), I had to figure something out. Now, by blocking my schedule and using a detailed calendar mobile app, I am able to keep track of when I should be working on specific tasks. These help immensely to make my days easier to manage.

Our team of two at Otter Consultants met weekly on Discord voice chat to keep track of what our progress was like on homework or team projects. Throughout the week, we also chatted on Discord to set up meeting times and let the other know ahead of time if there were any problems. I believe that our team of two was too small, but we did get work done on time and met deadlines. Since I consider us both to be "get along" types, we didn't have set deadlines for work or meetings, and had to change it regularly. If we were in a bigger team with more diverse work personalities, we would be able to get work done more efficiently. I still value the effort that our team put in. Even though our group will disband and join bigger groups for future courses, we still learned a lot from Team 8's experience in CST300.
